General Assembly Tuition Waiver


The deadline for the 2010 scholarship has passed. Please check back with us at this site in January 2011 for future availability.


Qualifications:

  • All applicants must reside in the 46th district. If you currently live at school, your home (away from school) address must be within the 46th district. To find out if you reside in the 46th district, contact your local election official or visit the state board of elections web site http://www.elections.state.il.us/DistrictLocator/DistrictOfficialSearchByAddress.aspx. If you do not reside in the 46th district, please contact the appropriate state senator/representative in your district
  • All applicants must be 16 years of age or older.
  • All applicants must be enrolled in or accepted to one of the four year public Illinois state universities listed above.
  • Winners will be chosen by the 46th district tuition waiver committee based on financial need, overall academic performance, and community involvement.

Applicants must be accepted to one of the following state universities:

  • Chicago State University, Chicago
  • Eastern Illinois University, Charleston
  • Governor's State University, University Park
  • Illinois State University, Normal
  • Northern Illinois University, DeKalb
  • Western Illinois University, Macomb
  • Northeastern Illinois University, Chicago
  • Southern Illinois University (Carbondale and Edwardsville Campuses)
  • University of Illinois (Chicago, Springfield, and Urbana-Champaign Campuses)
  • University of Illinois College of Medicine (Chicago, Peoria, Rockford, and Champaign/Urbana Campuses)

Applicants Should Submit the Following Materials:

  • Complete application (submitted online *see below)
  • All available transcripts, high school and college (if available) may be emailed to dooley.kyle@yahoo.com or mailed to 13 S. Capitol Pekin, IL 61554 official copy not required
  • Only the materials listed above are necessary to be considered for the tuition waiver. Additional materials will not be considered. Please do not send letters of recommendation or any additional materials other than transcripts and the online application.
